A top executive of EasyCard Corp. assured the public about the safety and security of the more than 18.2 million EasyCards that will have an upgraded function as electronic-wallets for shopping at designated retailing outlets (in Taipei, Taiwan) beginning April 1. (The China Post)
The stored-value EasyCards issued by EasyCard Corp. are used as an electronic ticket for riding on public buses and the mass rapid transport (MRT) system as well as paying car parking fees in the Greater Taipei area.
Cardholders can now use the EasyCards to make purchases at more than 10,000 retailing outlets operated by the leading chains of convenience stores and 20 other chain restaurants and supermarkets to save the hassle of paper bills and coins. (The EasyCard uses Mifare contactless technology).
