PayPal has announced the release of the app supporting its previously announced NFC-based peer-to-peer service, which enables two users with NFC-enabled Android smartphones to tap to initiate a money transfer.
The P2P feature is included in the latest version of PayPal’s Android mobile-payment app, available for download from the Android Market store.
To use the NFC feature, users would need NFC-enabled Android phones with the latest PayPal app, including a Request Money widget installed, said Shimone Samuel, product experience manager at PayPal mobile applications in a blog post Tuesday.
