Israel-based contactless and NFC vendor On Track Innovations announced Monday it had received an order for 30,000 readers for point-of-sale terminals at retail gasoline stations in North America.
OTI noted in its announcement that the readers will not only support the contactless applications of the major payment schemes, such as Visa payWave, MasterCard PayPass and American Express ExpressPay, but also the Isis NFC SmartTap reader application. The vendor said it included SmartTap on the customized readers.
SmartTap is Isis’ mobile-commerce application that enables consumers to tap for payment and redeem rewards, coupons or offers in a single tap. Isis is a joint venture of U.S. mobile operators Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile USA.
