BARCELONA – Isis, as expected, has named the first three banks planning to issue payment applications for its Isis Mobile Wallet, JPMorgan Chase, Capital One and Barclaycard US.
The banks will launch credit, debit and prepaid cards for the wallet in two U.S. cities this summer, said Isis, which is a joint venture created by Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile USA.
As NFC Times reported last fall, Chase and Capital One, two of the largest issuers of payment cards in the United States, will participate in the Isis soft launch in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas. Barclaycard US had already disclosed its plans to issue a payment card for the wallet. Such other issuers as U.S. Bank have seriously discussed participating in the Isis wallet, NFC Times has reported.
