That is according to experts during a recent panel discussion on tokenization, who see the technology as a development that will strongly influence the payments industry for years to come.
The major payments networks, along with other processors, issuers and possibly third-party tokenization service vendors are likely to control token generation and management for open-loop payments, although observers disagree on who will benefit the most and who will ultimately take most of the market share in tokenization.
