United States
Scope:
Rollout
Citi plans to roll out passive stickers to credit card customers, which they can attach to their phones or other devices to tap to pay wherever MasterCard PayPass is accepted, NFC Times has learned.
NFC Times Take:
Eager to introduce mobile-payment, Citi is apparently not willing to wait for contactless media that is more integrated with the phone, such as NFC or contactless microSDs. But those devices could come later with a Citi app onboard. It’s not clear yet if Citi plans to offer any additional services with the sticker, even transaction alerts.
* Trusted Service Manager: Defined loosely to include companies or other organizations securely distributing, provisioning and managing applications, generally over the air, on secure elements in NFC mobile phones; or licensing their platforms for this purpose.
N/A: Not available or not applicable.
