Scope:
Trial
Status:
Planned
About 100 participants for the six-month trial will be able to tap their phones to pay at some shops with a contactless version of the Moneo closed-loop electronic purse. They’ll also be to access city pools and one or more skating rinks and tap tags to get information on city monuments.
NFC Times Take:
Although in France, the players are supposed to be past the trial phase for NFC, perhaps this pilot is for the benefit of Bordeaux city officials or Moneo’s new financial backers. In any case, the closed-loop payment scheme sees its future in contactless and mobile technology.
* Trusted Service Manager: Defined loosely to include companies or other organizations securely distributing, provisioning and managing applications, generally over the air, on secure elements in NFC mobile phones; or licensing their platforms for this purpose.
