NFC TIMES Exclusive Insight – There’s more evidence that social media and messaging apps are proving to be valuable platforms for promoting mobile payments, at least in Asia.
A study by Taiwan’s well-established Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute found that the mobile-payments service from the popular Line messaging app, QR-code-based Line Pay, has become the most-used service in Taiwan, a crowded mobile payments market, where all three global NFC-based Pays wallets have launched.
The Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute, which conducts information and communications technology research as part of Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry, cited a survey showing that 25.2% of respondents said they used Line Pay, Taiwan's state-owned Central News Agency reported.
