KT Announces NFC-equipped Samsung SHW-A170K
South Korea has got its first phone equipped with NFC or Near Field Communication technology. KT today unveiled the SHW-A170K, which sports NFC technology and uses NFC compatible USIM. (Samsung Hub)
An NFC phone is like a contactless card that can be used to make payments or buy tickets, gift cards etc. Currently, companies like GS Caltex, Lotte, Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin Robbins and few more support NFC payments. (See NFC Times article published last month on this planned launch.)

Any one knows about security features in SHW-A170K ?
I've heard of no additional security features in the phone model itself.
On the application side, the payment applications will be stored on SWP-enabled SIMs, which will support Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass, along with the closed-loop T-money transit/retail scheme. These scheme operators would have to certify for security of their applications, although the might have approved waivers.
