NFC Times Exclusive – Some major Chinese banks are telling their customers that Apple Pay will launch on Thursday in China, which will become Apple’s biggest market for its payments service after the U.S.
At least three banks, Industrial and Commercial Bank, China Merchants Bank and Guangfa Bank have all told their customers to expect the launch Feb. 18.
ICBC, China’s largest bank, told its mobile users that “ICBC has Apple Pay,” which it said would make payments “more easy,” NFC Times has learned. A screen shot (see photo this page) lists the date of the launch as Feb. 18.
