Singapore-based trusted service manager Cassis International has announced it has opened its first office covering the Americas, hiring a former MasterCard Worldwide executive to head the small New York-based operation.
Allen Merrill, who left MasterCard at the end of last year as head of global payments consulting for the MasterCard Advisors unit, began work for Cassis in January. The office has five employees at present.
Cassis, which is established in its home base of Asia, also said it is expanding in Europe, where it is facing off against the TSM units of the world’s three largest smart card companies, Gemalto, Oberthur Technologies and Giesecke & Devrient.
