Manchester City handed out phones to a handful of season ticket holders, enabling them to enter the stadium with a tap on contactless readers at the gate.

NFC Times Take: 

One of the first NFC trials in the UK. Manchester City had been rolling out contactless cards three years earlier. Plans for loyalty and payment applications as part of a hoped-for NFC rollout have yet to materialize.
